The Shell House is one of the most photographed and famous houses in Polperro and has featured in numerous books on the village. Now available for holiday letting following a complete and luxurious refurbishment it offers stunning accommodation featuring 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and lovely harbour views.
It was originally constructed in the mid 19th century as a single fisherman’s cottage. In the mid 20th century the form of the property was decorated with shells by a Samuel Puckey. Mr Puckey was a retired naval man and decorated the property using his lifetime’s collection of shells from around the world. He started work in 1937 and it apparently took him five years to complete. If you have visited Polperro before you will no doubt remember it and probably photographed it yourself.
There are offers available on full weeks in May, June, July and August with savings of up to £350.00 (for parties of up to 4 guests) and there are also short breaks on offer too from £405.00 for a 3 night break.
